Oh the Places You’ll Go!

            Wow! The last Jefferson Journal for this school year is here! It’s hard to believe that the 2009-2010 school year is coming to a close.  It has been a wonderful experience for me to get to know all of the terrific students, families, and staff at Jefferson this year. What a treat it has been for me to learn alongside you during the school year.

            There have been tons of fun and exciting activities during this school year.  I look forward to starting out the new school year with you and embarking on a journey that will take us to many new places.  Jefferson has been awarded a grant for science-based activities and I am very excited to see these ideas come to fruition.

            I will miss all of the fifth grade students whom I have loved getting to know.  I wish all of you the best of luck in middle school.  I hope you will come back, visit us, and tell us about all of the exciting things you are learning and doing.

            If you go somewhere, anywhere this summer, send me a postcard at school!  We have a map of the United States on the third floor.  I plan to display the postcards near the state you visited.  It will bring the map to life and it will show us all the places you visited.  If you stay home in Maplewood or South Orange, that’s fine too.  Both towns have postcards and we will display them proudly too.
